Hyundai Creta Review, Price & Features

Reading Time: 4 minutes

Hyundai Creta does so many things right. Not only is it a premium SUV model with modern features, a spacious interior, and smooth gearboxes- it also drives real smooth. Hyundai also recently launched the Hyundai Creta Knight edition. It is a compact SUV edition that has an all-black interior and exterior styling. But more on that later. Let’s dive into the 2024 Creta review.

2024 Hyundai Creta Features

The 2024 Hyundai Creta has LED headlamps with H-shaped LED DRLs (daylight running lamps) with connected LED tail lights. It has an 8-speaker Bose sound system, dual 10.25-inch displays, connected car technology, a wireless phone charger, dual-zone auto AC, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, and a large panoramic sunroof.

Engine Transmission Options:

It comes with three choices based on your needs and driving style:

  • 1.5-litre Naturally Aspirated Petrol: It is ideal for city commutes and occasional highway drives.
  • 1.5-litre Turbo-Petrol: It is ideal for driving enthusiasts who enjoy fast driving- but it is not very fuel-efficient.
  • 1.5-litre Diesel: It has a balanced engine power and slightly better fuel efficiency- ideal for people who want a mix of both.

Mileage:

2024 Creta models vary in claimed mileage depending on the engine and transmission, but it ranges between 17.4 km/l to 21.8 km/l.

Safety:

Global NCAP awarded the 2024 Hyundai Creta a 4-star adult occupants safety rating and a 3-star child occupants safety rating. All the Hyundai Creta variants include 6 airbags, Hill Start Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Vehicle Stability Control, rear disc brakes, and more. However, Bharat NCAP has yet to crash-test the Creta models and award them safety ratings accordingly.

What do we think? Since Verna scored 5 stars in Global NCAP, the updated Creta 2024 expectations are high.

Colour Variations:

Hyundai launched the Creta 2024 in one dual-tone shade and six monotone colours: Ranger Khaki, Fiery Red, Robust Emerald Pearl, Atlas White, Titan Grey, Abyss Black, and Atlas White with a black roof. The Knight Edition of Creta isn’t available in Ranger Khaki but has two additional colours: Starry Night and Shadow Grey with a black roof.

What’s the Hype Around Creta Knight Edition?

The alloys, badging and blacked-out grille give the 2024 Hyundai Creta Knight Edition a sportier look. Hyundai also gave it a “Knight Edition” badge since it is a special edition. The inside cabin has an all-black treatment and contrasting brass-coloured inserts. The features and engine variations of the Creta Knight Edition are the same as a standard Creta car.

2024 Hyundai Creta Price and Variations

The base price for the 2024 Hyundai Creta starts at Rs 11 lakh and goes up to Rs 20.15 lakh. There are seven variants of the Hyundai Creta- E, EX, S, S(O), SX, SX Tech, and SX(O). The very stylish Hyundai Creta Knight edition price starts from Rs 14.51 lakh and it belongs to the S(O) and SX(O) variants.

Creta Competitions and Alternatives

The vehicle competes with Volkswagen Taigun, Toyota Hyryder, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, etc. Also, if you consider sedan options under the same budget, the Hyundai Creta faces more competitors like the Skoda Slavia, Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, etc. However, if you want a larger SUV in the same budget like the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Harrier, or MG Hector, they will come with limited features.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Comfortable seats, Spacious cabin
  • New feature list
  • Sharp and appealing updated design
  • Generous resale value
  • Easy availability of Hyundai spares/service

Cons:

  • Restrictive headspace. Might be difficult for tall occupants
  • Expensive for its size, especially with the top-end models

Other Considerations

Check out the Creta N Line if you have a limited budget and want a sportier Hyundai Creta model. Also, if you wait till January 2025, you could go for an EV version of Creta. The Hyundai Creta EV will probably be priced at around Rs. 20 lakhs with a solid range of over 400 km.
